Join us for a hands-on Earth Day of service as we give the Asheville YMCA a beautiful, lasting refresh! This Togetherhood Project is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, roll up your sleeves, and make a visible difference right in our own backyard.
Whether you have a green thumb or just a heart for service, there's a task for everyone. Projects may include:
Planting & Landscaping
- Plant one large feature tree and five dogwood trees in front of the building
- Aerate soil, overseed, and add hay to the front lawn
- Mulch the central garden area
- Remove gravel and replace with decorative pea gravel
Cleanup & Beautification
- Pressure wash the front of the building
- Remove brush and trash near the container area
- Clean the Central Avenue exit corner
- Trash pickup around the parking lot and surrounding block
Note: Specific projects may vary based on volunteer turnout.
What to Wear & Bring:
- Weather-appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty
- Closed-toe shoes or work boots
- Work gloves (if you have them — extras will be available)
- Water bottle
All tools and supplies will be provided.
Why It Matters:
Every tree planted, every piece of trash picked up, and every garden mulched is a statement that our community cares — about this place, about each other, and about the environment we share. Come celebrate Earth Day the best way we know how: together.
