Overview
Support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease by assisting during our PWR! Moves exercise class. This volunteer role ensures the class environment is safe, organized, and welcoming while participants focus on movement and recovery.
PWR! Moves is a research-informed Parkinson’s wellness program designed to improve neuroplasticity and slow symptom progression. The class emphasizes large, intentional movements that target four key skills often impacted by Parkinson’s:

Antigravity extension

Weight shifting

Axial mobility

Transitional movements
Volunteers do not provide medical instruction. Instead, they serve as operational and environmental support to enhance participant experience.
Responsibilities

Assist with room set-up and breakdown

Move and arrange equipment (chairs, mats, light fitness equipment)

Provide light in-class support (retrieving items, adjusting room setup as needed)

Offer encouragement and a welcoming presence
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift/move equipment (light to moderate weight)

Ability to stand and move throughout the class
