Camp Watia offers an overnight summer camping experience focused on adventure, personal growth, and connection with the natural world.
Each summer, youth ages roughly 7–17 explore the Blue Ridge Mountains through a variety of fun, confidence-building activities and community engagement. Campers are encouraged to dare to try new things, discover their strengths, and dream about what’s possible — all while making friends and developing new skills in a safe, supportive environment.
Typical activities include outdoor recreation such as hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, challenge courses, and more — experiences that help campers grow independence, resilience, leadership, and social skills.
The camp also provides meaningful opportunities for staff development and community involvement, including volunteer events like clean-up days that help prepare the grounds for future campers.
