The Y is a local nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Since 1889, the YMCA of Western North Carolina has strengthened the foundations of the communities we serve. We do this by nurturing children, promoting well-being, and giving back to our neighbors in need.

Our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility guide everything we do.

Our association is home to seven fitness centers, an overnight camp, dozens of mobile food markets, youth sports, and many other programs.

We’re also the state’s largest provider of licensed school-age childcare.
