MountainTrue is a regional conservation organization with a single mission: to protect and restore the Southern Blue Ridge mountains.
We are a unified and powerful voice for environmental advocacy, formed by the merger of several grassroots groups with a shared commitment to our region. We bring together dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, and community leaders to stand up for the places we all love.
From our headquarters in Asheville, we work to protect our region's forests and waterways, create healthy and equitable communities, and build a more resilient future.
Our work is driven by the belief that thriving mountains are the foundation for thriving communities.

At MountainTrue, our work is defined by the needs of our mountains and our neighbors. We take a multi-pronged approach that combines on-the-ground action with high-level advocacy.
