Who We Are

Literacy Together (Formerly The Literacy Council of Buncombe County) is a nonprofit organization in Asheville, NC, dedicated to transforming lives and communities through the power of literacy.

What We Do

We provide free, personalized tutoring for children and adults in reading, writing, English language learning, and GED prep, while also promoting early literacy through programs like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. With the support of trained volunteers, we work to create a just and equitable community where literacy is accessible to all.
