Join us for the YMCA Fall Food Drive, happening across all Western North Carolina YMCA locations from November 16–22!

Throughout the week, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items and canned goods to support our YMCA Nutrition Department, which provides healthy meals and essential groceries to individuals and families in need throughout our community.

There are multiple opportunities to volunteer your time this week to help receive and organize donations.

As a volunteer, you’ll be part of the action — greeting members, accepting donations, sorting food, and helping prepare items for distribution. Your efforts will ensure donations are organized efficiently and reach those who need them most before the holidays.

This is a great opportunity to serve alongside other YMCA members, connect with your community, and see the impact your time and generosity can make firsthand.

Volunteer Roles Include:

Greeting and receiving donations from members

Sorting and checking food items for quality & expiration

Organizing food items into respective containers

Sharing information about Togetherhood volunteer opportunities

Water bottle and light snack if needed

All supplies and instructions will be provided. No experience necessary — just come ready to lend a hand and make a difference.

Looking for a fun way to give back? Become a Youth Basketball Coach at the YMCA!

No experience needed — training and practice plans provided.

Your Role:

Lead one weekly practice

Teach teamwork, sportsmanship, and basketball basics
