About the event

Volunteer to divert waste from our landfills by collecting and sorting items from the community to be recycled.

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers can register to support a specific station or be a runner and help to unload any and all items from vehicles as they come through the event. Expect a fast-paced, fun event serving the community. We regularly see 600+ vehicles at our events.

Volunteers, staff, and partners help each other collect and sort items, while being safe and efficient. This drive-through style event takes place outside, rain or shine!

(First Shift - 9:00am - 12:00pm (3 hours))

1st Shift Runner — 9 AM – 12 PM (EST)

1st Shift Data Collection — 9 AM – 12 PM (EST)
1st Shift Cardboard — 9 AM – 12 PM (EST)

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Asheville GreenWorks will provide:

• Vests
• Gloves
• Snacks
• Water
• Cooler
• High-Fives!

Please Bring/Wear:

• A water bottle
• Sunglasses or a hat
• Sneakers
• Sunscreen
• Appropriate clothes for the weather
• Rain Gear if there is a chance for rain
  

Additional Requirements

Training

Please join our virtual info session on Thursday May 7th at 6:00pm via Zoom.

This is required for first-time H2R volunteers and will be recorded for those who cannot attend live (link below).
