The YMCA of WNC Community Health Program, anchored by the Nutrition Hub, operates at the intersection of food access, education, and community care. Our core efforts include:
Food Access & Distribution
We host regular food distribution events called Mobile Food Markets — to ensure families have reliable access to fresh, nutritious food.
Volunteers help unload deliveries, organize inventory, and prepare food for distribution, directly supporting food security across our community.
Nutrition Education & Support
We provide practical resources and guidance that help individuals and families make healthy food choices, from label reading to meal planning, empowering people with the tools they need for lasting wellness.
Volunteer‑Powered Impact
Our Nutrition Hub is driven by volunteers who bring energy, teamwork, and heart to every service opportunity. Volunteers help manage food deliveries, support efficient inventory flow, and create welcoming spaces where community members feel valued and cared for.
Through these efforts, we strengthen food access systems, improve health outcomes, and foster a culture of service that benefits the entire community.
