W.D. Williams Afterschool Program

The W.D. Williams Elementary YMCA Afterschool Program is a school-based youth development program operated by the YMCA of Western North Carolina.

We provide families with a safe, structured, and supportive environment for children after the school day ends. Guided by the YMCA’s core values—Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility—our trained staff focus on helping children build confidence, character, and positive relationships.

We support students’ growth beyond the classroom through a balanced afterschool experience that includes:

• Homework support to reinforce learning and build strong study habits

• Enrichment activities such as arts, games, and hands-on projects

• Daily physical activity that promotes health, teamwork, and fun

• Social and character development through group interaction and guided play

Our program provides reliable afterschool care while helping children learn, grow, and thrive in a positive, community-centered setting.
